Team Meetings

There are mandatory team information meetings this week. Jr. High (current 7th and 8th graders) Wednesday, May 20th during lunch in Mr. Croutwort’s Room. High School (current 9th – 11th graders) Thursday, May 21st during lunch in Ms. Amble’s Room. Grab your lunch and then hustle to the meeting room.

TRT (Total Release Training)
You should make every day count by investing time and energy into your strength and conditioning. TRT is offered every day after school from 3:15 – 5:00. We should see a lot more guys these next two weeks in the weight room after school.

Coaching Staff Changes
I’m sorry to say that Coach Betzvog won’t be returning to the coaching staff next season due to work and family time commitments. We will all miss him on a day-to-day basis, but he has committed to helping us out on Friday nights as needed – so he will be around the program periodically. With Coach B. stepping down we are going to adjust the way we coach our Junior Varsity and younger players. We are going to implement a holistic coaching style which means varsity coaches will coach all players (regardless of age/ability) and will coach/coordinate Junior Varsity games. Our plan is develop coach/player relationships with our younger players early in the careers so by the time they are varsity players there is a rapport with their position coach and/or coordinator.

Lastly, we have added two new coaches to the program. Jordan Gage; a graduate of Orcas Island, played college football at Western State University (Colorado) and will be coaching Defensive Backs. Jason Phillips; a graduate of the University of Colorado will be our strength development consultant. Jason has been a strength coach in the Pac-10 (UW and Oregon State) for the last 5+ years in addition to positions with the Anaheim Angeles and Rapid City Thrillers of the Continental Basketball Association. Jason is currently taking some time off to help raise his two young children and is excited about the opportunity to work with Coach Tucci to create and manage a summer lifting program that builds strong football players!
